PR & MEDIA

The Public Relations & Media Team of the Public Affairs and Communications Unit handles the University’s external communications - in particular media communications - safeguards the University's reputation and provides crisis management support when necessary. The team actively engages with media outlets and other stakeholders locally, regionally and internationally to showcase the accomplishments of HKUST, its faculty, students, and alumni as well as establish partnerships that support the University's diverse objectives.

By generating written and multimedia content, organizing media events and interviews, responding to inquiries, and forging media partnerships, the team plays a crucial role in creating opportunities to increase the visibility of HKUST and HKUST(GZ). The team also proactively monitors news and social media to identify potential issues and take necessary actions to mitigate any negative impact on the University's image.
